Brief Introduction of Xuzhou, Jiangsu

Economic Developmental Zone:

The economic developmental zone was set up in July, 1992, including the private science and technology zone of Xuzhou, China and high-technology property zone of Jiangsu. The total coverage is 108 sq.km, in which 25.6 sq.km was finished construction. The zone enjoys the preferential policies for economic developmental zone by the nation. It is a focus-industrialized new town in Xuzhou.

In the last ten years, the great endeavor in strengthening the infrastructure and enriching the manpower has brought tremendous change in the investment environment. The zone proceeds with the across-the-board service and fully enclosed management in order to support the investors'business. Xuzhou has 15 colleges and over 300 research institutes, more than 300,000 technologic stuff. It is the second in China owning enormous research institutes and great manpower, while Nanjing, Jiangsu is the first.

Predominant Transportation:

The country's two major railways, namely the Jinghu (Beijing-Shanghai) Railway and the Longhai (Lianyungang-Lanzhou-Xinjiang) railway meet in Xuzhou. The city is taken as one of the most important transportation hubs in China. The proposed Jinghu express railway is planned to pass through Xuzhou. Five national expressways, such as Jinghu (Biejing-shanghai) and Jingfu (Beijing-Fuzhou) connecting south and north of china as well as Lianhuo (Lianyungang-Huoerguosi) all go though the city. In addition, Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal flows by the city, and Xuzhou Guanyin Airport has developed many domestic airlines to over 30 major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shezhen, WenZhou, Wenzhou, Xiamen, Haikou, etc.
